The latest addition to Pure Blue Japan's SS24 collection: the indigo warp and persimmon (kakishibu) weft jeans. These jeans feature a slim tapered cut with a mid-rise, providing a snug fit through the thighs and a refined taper down the leg.

Crafted in small batches in Japan, these jeans showcase an inky dark indigo exterior beautifully contrasted by the kakishibu-dyed (persimmon) weft. This traditional Japanese dye, derived from fermented persimmon fruit, imparts a distinctive reddish-brown hue to the interior, adding depth and complexity to the heavy slub yarn.

Woven on old-world shuttle looms using a specialized slow weaving technique, this Okayama selvedge denim is renowned for its rich, uneven texture. The kakishibu dye treatment enhances this unique surface, offering an earthy, amber-to-burnt-orange undertone that evolves as the denim breaks in.

The jeans are finished with custom nickel buttons, a natural deerskin leather patch, and the signature Pure Blue Japan indigofera leaf embroidery, making them a standout piece in any denim collection.

This pair has a standard sizing. We recommend choosing your usual size. However, as always, we recommend checking the size chart first to find your perfect size. It is unsanforized but one washed, so there will be no shrinkage. The waist will experience the typical stretching seen in PBJ denim. Expect approximately 1 inches of stretching.
